Komodo cruise 4D3N: the extra day in the water

A four-day, three-night sailing from Labuan Bajo that adds a full day of snorkelling to the classic route. Shared cabins run on selected departures only; otherwise you charter the whole boat.

The short version

The extra night buys a full water day rather than another checklist. Shared cabins are standard only on the 3D2N open trip; a shared 4D3N opens on selected departures, so message the desk with your dates first.

  • Private charters are priced per vessel, never per person
  • Day three is the reason most snorkelers upgrade: Manta Point gets an unhurried slot
  • The park fee is charged once per trip, not per night
  • If no shared 4D3N lines up, the alternative is a 3D2N plus a night in Labuan Bajo

Riley rates are as listed on Komodo Luxury, checked 2026-09-16. Lady Grace, Le Costa and Malca Voyages publish 2D1N and 3D2N rates only, so a 4D3N on those — or on Elbark, Ayvara, Raffles or Vinca — is on request. Budget separately for the park fee and any alcohol.

Day three is why most snorkelers upgrade. On a 3D2N, Manta Point usually shares a morning with other stops — with no promise of mantas on any given day.

Do the 2026 park rules change a longer cruise?

They make the extra day more useful, not less. A four-day plan gives the crew more room to fit Padar and the dragon sites into the available sessions.

  1. A park-wide cap of about 1,000 visitors a day was reported, enforced from 1 April 2026, with sessions around 05:00–08:00, 08:00–11:00 and 15:00–18:00.
  2. Guests are pre-registered with passport details through the operator manifest, so walk-in entry is not reliable.
  3. After-dark movement in higher-risk zones was reportedly restricted from 10 January 2026, so boats reach anchorage before nightfall.

How booking a 4D3N works

Because shared 4D3N departures are selective, this starts with a date check rather than a price.

  1. Send dates and guests

    By WhatsApp or email, with a window rather than a single day if you can.

  2. The desk checks

    It looks for selected 4D3N shared departures inside your window.

  3. Or price it private

    If none match, you receive private quotes per vessel, with duration, guest band and inclusions stated.

  4. Confirm and register

    Accept, then share passport details for the park manifest.

  5. Fly in a day early

    Denpasar to Labuan Bajo, ideally arriving the day before departure.

Most departures cluster in the April to November dry season. Komodo Luxury publishes weekly departures for 2026 and 2027.
