Komodo honeymoon cruise: privacy is the real difference

Book the Master Ocean View cabin on a 3D2N share trip, quoted per person, or charter a whole boat for two, priced per vessel. Both sail from Labuan Bajo.

The short version

On a share trip the cabin is yours but the deck, the dining table and the schedule are not. On a charter the boat and crew are yours, and a couple pays the same whole-boat rate as a group that fills it.

  • Share trips carry roughly 8 to 22 guests on a fixed Padar–Pink Beach–Komodo–Manta route
  • Upgrading to a master cabin costs a couple a few hundred dollars; a private boat costs several thousand
  • Shared cabins are sold only on the 3D2N open trip
  • The national park fee is not included and is paid once per trip

Boats reach their anchorage before nightfall under the reported 2026 harbour rules, which leaves the evening free for a slow meal outside.

The reported morning entry session runs roughly 05:00–08:00, so a sunrise hike is possible.

When to sail, and when to book it

April to November is the best window for most couples: the dry season, with calmer seas and better visibility, and where most open-trip departures fall. Boats sail all year, but December to March is the wet season and weather changes to the plan are more likely.

Coming from Bali, fly Denpasar (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) and arrive the day before departure. After a wedding, that spare night is a real buffer — and Komodo Luxury also sells bundles that add Labuan Bajo hotel nights to an open trip.

  • A cap of about 1,000 visitors a day was reportedly trialled January–March 2026 and enforced from 1 April 2026, with time-slotted entry.
  • Entry reportedly needs digital pre-registration with passport details through the operator manifest.
  • 3D2N open trips typically depart Monday–Wednesday and Friday–Sunday, with weekly departures published for 2026–2027.
  • Book as soon as the wedding date is fixed — popular cabins and charter dates fill.

  3. Get a quote

    Share trips are priced per person by cabin; charters per vessel, with duration, capacity and inclusions stated.

  4. Send passport details

    For the park manifest and digital pre-registration.

  5. List your requests

    Deck dinner, sunset stop, a cake — so the crew can plan what is feasible.

  6. Fly in a day early

    Land at LBJ the day before and board in Labuan Bajo.
