How the reported 2026 sessions change your start
According to reports published in 2026, the park trialled a cap of about 1,000 visitors a day from January to March 2026 and enforced it from 1 April 2026, with timed entry sessions.

Entry also relies on digital pre-registration, with passport details submitted through operator manifests. Ask for the earliest session the desk can secure, send passport details when you book, and confirm the current rules for your date. Separately, the Labuan Bajo harbourmaster (KSOP) reportedly restricted tourist-vessel movement after dark in high-risk park zones from 10 January 2026.
What a day cruise costs in 2026
The desk quotes day cruises per date, format and group size rather than publishing one fixed per-person rate. Here is what that means line by line.
- Speedboat day tour: quoted by the desk, and it varies with the date and with shared seats against the whole boat.
- Yacht day cruise: quoted per vessel, with capacity and inclusions stated in the quote.
- Komodo National Park fee: confirmed by the desk. Not included in the cruise price, and paid once per trip.
- For comparison, the weekday open trip 3D2N is quoted on request and includes the boat, meals, snorkelling gear and a guide.
- For comparison, the 3D2N share-cabin open trip is quoted on request and carries roughly 8–22 fellow guests.
If your schedule stretches to three days, run the numbers before settling on a day tour: the weekday open trip includes meals and two nights on board.

Why the season matters more on a speedboat
Cruises run year-round, but the dry season from April to November brings calmer seas and clearer water. On a speedboat crossing open channels at speed, that is the difference between a comfortable morning and a wet, slow one.
December to March brings more weather-related changes, so wet-season visitors should keep a buffer day in Labuan Bajo rather than booking the only free afternoon of the trip.
- Coming from Bali, fly Denpasar (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) and arrive the day before — day tours leave early
- A weather call on the day is normal from December to March
