A charter vessel on still water at sunset in Komodo National Park

Prices · two pricing bases

Komodo cruise price: per person, or per boat

Shared cabins are sold per person. Private charters are sold per vessel. The most common budgeting mistake is comparing one against the other, so this page explains the structure before any figure.

Get a price for my date

The short version

The weekday open trip and the 3D2N shared cabin are the lowest-cost shared options, and the per-person fare depends on vessel and cabin. A private charter is one package price for the whole boat.

  • Prices move with season, vessel and cabin, so use this page for structure and the desk for your date
  • A price band tells you what a group size costs — it does not confirm there are enough beds
  • The national park fee sits outside every fare
  • Never divide a charter rate and quote it back as a per-person fare

Plate I

Two pricing bases, never mixed

Everything else on this page hangs off this distinction.

A quad ocean-view cabin aboard Malca Voyages

Per person, by cabin

  • Sold on the 3D2N open trip and the weekday open trip
  • Your cabin grade changes the price more than anything else
  • Roughly 8–22 other guests aboard
  • Fixed route: Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Manta Point
  • Fare covers the boat, all meals, snorkelling gear and a guide
A phinisi under full sail alone in Komodo National Park

Per vessel, by guest band

  • One package price for the whole boat
  • Bands by group size, and some vessels add a fee per extra guest
  • Your group only, and the date is yours to choose
  • Same park sites, order agreed with the desk
  • A smaller group pays the same as a full band

Every option and how it is priced

Nine ways to buy a Komodo cruise, sorted by pricing basis rather than by price.

Riley's package rate was checked on 16 September 2026. The shared 3D2N follows a fixed route and usually departs Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Sunday.

Plate III

One boat, six prices

On an open trip your cabin choice changes the price more than anything else. These are the grades on Malca Voyages, each quoted per person for your departure.

One boat, six prices
Cabin (Malca Voyages) Price per person
The master ocean-view cabin aboard Malca Voyages Master Ocean View Quote on request
A deluxe double room aboard Malca Voyages Deluxe Ocean View Quote on request
A superior ocean-view cabin aboard Malca Voyages Superior Ocean View Quote on request
A double room aboard Malca Voyages Double Room 1 & 2 Quote on request
A quad ocean-view cabin aboard Malca Voyages Quad Ocean View Quote on request
A triple cabin aboard Malca Voyages Triple Quote on request

The Triple and the Master Ocean View are on the same boat, route and dates, but the Master costs more per person — and that gap doubles for a couple.

Plate IV

Private charter, by vessel and band

These cover the whole boat. Before you plan how to split the cost, have the desk confirm how many guests can sleep aboard on your dates.

Scroll the table sideways for every column

Private charter, by vessel and band
Vessel Base price Trip Higher band
Riley USD 3,350 (1–8 persons) 2D1N USD 3,600 for 9–10
Riley USD 4,350 (1–8 persons) 3D2N USD 4,650 for 9–10
Riley USD 5,600 (1–8 persons) 4D3N USD 6,050 for 9–10
Lady Grace Quote on request (1–10) 2D1N / 3D2N Band published for 11–20
Le Costa Quote on request (1–14) 2D1N / 3D2N Not published
Malca Voyages Quote on request (1–12) 2D1N / 3D2N Not published

Riley's package rates were checked on 16 September 2026. The June 2026 listing for Lady Grace shows 10 cabins for up to 10 guests, yet the same listing carries a band for 11–20 guests — ask the desk how that band works for overnight trips before you book. Komodo Luxury publishes few specs for Elbark, Ayvara, Raffles and Vinca, so those are quoted on request.

What is not in the fare

Budget for these on top, whichever option you choose.

  1. Komodo National Park fee: charged separately from the fare. Ask the desk for the current amount.
  2. Flights: Denpasar (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) is not included and fares change by date.
  3. One hotel night: the safest plan is to arrive the day before, so budget for it. Tour-with-hotel bundles exist.
  4. Alcohol: optional and charged separately.
  5. Crew tips: up to you and not part of the fare. Ask the desk what is usual.
  6. Extra guests on a private charter: charged at the per-guest fee the desk quotes for that vessel.

Reported 2026 park rules — a cap of about 1,000 visitors a day enforced from 1 April 2026, timed entry slots, and digital pre-registration with passport details — add no cost to your quote, but they make last-minute plans unreliable.

Plate V

Six reasons two quotes differ

Each of these moves the number, and knowing which one is moving it is the whole skill of budgeting a Komodo trip.

The boat

A shared Triple on Malca is per person. A private 3D2N on Le Costa is one package for the whole hull.

Biggest single lever

Trip length

Group size

Charters have bands and fees for extra guests, so adding people raises the boat price in steps.

Day of the week

The weekday open trip is the lower-priced shared option; the standard 3D2N cabin is quoted separately.

The season

Most departures run April to November. Prices are set per departure date, so ask for your date rather than assuming a seasonal rate.

Plate VI

How to get a real number

Five steps, and the quote comes in writing with no invented discounts.

  1. Send dates and group size

On WhatsApp or by email, with any flexibility either side.

  2. Choose shared or private

A shared cabin on the 3D2N open trip, or the whole boat.

  3. Get a written quote

The desk confirms the boat, cabin or price band, what is included, and the price for your exact departure.

  4. Send passport details

So you can be added to the guest list for park registration.

  5. Fly DPS to LBJ

Arrive the day before. Every boat leaves from Labuan Bajo.
