Komodo cruise schedule: which format leaves on which day

Cruises run year-round from Labuan Bajo. As of 2026 the 3D2N open trip typically departs Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Sunday, weekday trips run on selected dates, and private charters sail on the date you pick.

The short version

Shared cabins are sold only on the 3D2N open trip, so if you want a cabin with strangers aboard, your calendar is limited to those six departure days. Everything else is either on request or a date you choose.

  • Figures below are dated 2026 guide prices — confirm live seats and the current rate with the desk
  • Thursday is not among the usual 3D2N start days
  • Private charter prices never convert to a per-person rate
  • Weekly departures are publicised for 2026–2027, most in the April–November dry season

The 3D2N guide range runs roughly USD 300–850 per person by vessel and cabin. Private examples, checked 16 September 2026: Riley 3D2N at USD 4,350 for 1–8 persons and USD 4,650 for 9–10; Malca Voyages 2D1N and 3D2N quoted per vessel for 1–12 guests. Elbark, Ayvara, Raffles and Vinca dates and rates are on request. A third-party reference puts shared speedboat day tours at about USD 120–150 per person; that is not a Komodo Luxury rate.

Plate III

How the season changes supply

Boats sail year-round. What changes by season is how many open-trip departures run and how fast seats go.

Scroll the table sideways for every column

How the season changes supply
Season band Months Open-trip supply Conditions
Dry season, early April–June Regular weekly departures Calmer seas and better visibility return
Dry season, peak July–August Full calendar, highest demand Best-known window; cabins and private boats book out first
Dry season, late September–November Regular departures continue Still dry; often easier to find cabin choice
Wet season December–March Fewer open-trip departures More weather-related changes to routes and timing

The wet season is not closed. It carries more risk of a changed stop or a shifted sailing, and holiday demand around Christmas and New Year can still be strong.

Plate IV

How far ahead to book

Planning guidance, not a promise of availability. Cabin category decides how early you need to move.

  1. 3–6 months

    July–August private charters

One booking takes the whole vessel off the calendar, so charter dates in peak season go first.

Treat Christmas, New Year and Indonesian long weekends the same way.

  2. 8–12 weeks

    July–August shared cabins

Each boat carries only a few cabins per category, and the lower-priced ones tend to go first.

If your budget is pinned to the entry categories, book earlier.

  3. 3–6 weeks

    April–June and September–November

Usually workable for shared cabins, with real cabin choice still available.

  4. Short notice

    December–March, outside holidays

Often works, but keep a flexible day either side for a weather call.

  5. Day before

    Your flight into Labuan Bajo

Route Denpasar (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) and land the day before your sailing.

A delayed flight can mean missing a fixed departure.

One private booking removes a whole hull from the calendar.

These are the listed September 2026 figures for one vessel and are not a fleet-wide rate card. Other pages on this site quote cabin grades on request, because most departures are priced per date. Ask the desk for the figure that applies to yours.

How the reported park quota changes your date

Several 2026 rule changes were reported. Confirm the current status with the desk before you fix dates.

  1. Visitor cap: a park-wide limit of about 1,000 visitors a day was reported, trialled January–March 2026 and enforced from 1 April 2026.
  2. Timed entry: sessions reportedly run roughly 05:00–08:00, 08:00–11:00 and 15:00–18:00.
  3. Pre-registration: passport details go in digitally through operator manifests, so walk-in entry is not reliable.
  4. No sailing after dark: movement in high-risk park zones was reportedly restricted from 10 January 2026, so boats reach anchorages before nightfall.
  5. In practice a booked seat now also depends on your manifest being filed on time — send passport details as soon as dates are confirmed.

Plate VI

How to lock a date

A live seat check is the only thing that tells you whether a departure day is actually open.

  1. Send dates and guest count

On WhatsApp or email, plus any flexibility either side.

  2. Get a live seat check

The team confirms open-trip cabins or private vessel availability for those days.

  3. Choose your format

Shared cabin on the 3D2N or weekday trip, or a whole-boat charter quoted per vessel.

  4. Confirm in writing

The desk sends inclusions, the park-fee note and payment terms.

  5. Submit passport details

For the park manifest and time-slotted entry.

  6. Book flights DPS to LBJ

    Landing the day before departure.
